New Smith's Rewards Card Program

Smith's Food & Drug is rolling out its rewards card program in Utah. Shoppers can earn one point for each dollar they spend, excluding purchases of tobacco, alcohol, fuel and prescriptions. Once they have accumulated 500 points, they qualify for a $5 reward certificate good on any in-store purchase. Each additional 100 points is worth $1. Rewards certificates are mailed quarterly. Customers can earn up to $250 per quarter. There will be a number of opportunities to earn bonus points on select items.

Smith's rolled out this program two years ago in the Las Vegas area (which included St. George and Cedar City) and about one year ago in New Mexico. Utah is the third major market to get the new cards. Joining Utah in this rollout will be Wendover and Elko, Nevada and several communities in Wyoming, including Jackson and Rock Springs.

For more information about the program, go here. Starting Sept. 9, customers will be asked to make the switch to the new card; bonus points for those who do are available through Sept. 26.

By the way, don't expect double coupons at Smith's anytime soon. This card will be the focus of Smith's marketing efforts for some time.
Thanks, One Cheap Chick!
