At this time on a Monday evening my family would normally be having FHE, but my husband, A WONDERFUL MAN!, is helping up the canyon with the flooding situation that a neighbors property is having. So, my daughter is playing with friends and I am browsing the web. I just found this great idea that everydayfoodstorage.net has posted for a FHE lesson that will help get your family involved in food storage. Check it out here.

Everyday Food Storage Recipes

Whenever I need a fresh idea or learn how to use my food storage items I just go visit everydayfoodstorage.net. Let's face it, grocery prices are continually on the rise. I have recently tried a few new recipes and want to share them with you. In the past I have shared my success with homemade bread from a recipe I found on this site, read about it here.

She had a posting, connected with a powdered eggs search, on how to shape the perfect roll. I tried the recipe she offered as well and they were a complete hit at my house. They do take some rising time and forethought, totally worth it! You can watch her technique for shaping the rolls and get the recipe here.

I also made her baked omelet. It was easy and I had everyone's food hot at the same time, as opposed to cooking one at a time and not having everyone eat at the same time. I could taste the flour in the finished product. I think that next time I will be adding green onions, cooked crumbled sausage, chilies, or something else to cover the flour taste. Breakfast works out well for my family to have a meal together, most mornings, so I like to have a few hot meals each week. Cold cereal is so expensive and most leave you hungry within an hour. I do love the ease of cold cereal though.

I made her Sour Cream Apple Pie today. I did use my dehydrated apples and I made mine an apple crisp instead of pie(no crust, easier!). It was yummy! In fact it was my dinner, I don't feel guilty because I ate carrots as well. ;)
Watch your baking time, I think I will bake it 5 minutes less next time.

Tangled Coupon is Out!

I have been waiting for the release of this DVD!!! As well as for the coupon to accompany it. Release date is next Tuesday, March 29th. The coupon for this movie is only $5, instead of the greater value ones we have seen in the past. Let's face it, Disney knew we would all be running to purchase this movie with or without a coupon. The coupon is only good on the 4 disc Combo Pack.

I am adding what I have posted before on my thoughts for why to purchase a Blu-ray pack:

Don't have a Blu-ray player? You may still want to consider getting this pack anyway. With this Disney Combo Pack you get not only the Blu-ray disc, but you also get a DVD, digital copy disc, and the 3-D disc. Remember eight track tapes? Whether you do or don't you know that they are extinct just like cassette tapes. It is hard to find a VCR and my thinking is that everything will go Blu-ray eventually so why not get this combo pack and be ready for when you do get your Blu-ray player while still having a DVD to use now.

If you have not seen this movie yet, I highly suggest you buy it. It is a good one even if you live in house full of boys.

My husband, daughter, and I needed to get out and do something away from home last Friday night. We decided to go see RANGO at Stadium 8 in Providence.
We all know that movie theater treats are not cheap, but we splurged and purchased the large popcorn combo deal. You get two large drinks, a large popcorn, and a candy treat of our choice. What I didn't know was that they were running a special contest in which if you find a shamrock sticker on the bottom of your popcorn bucket then you win two movie passes. The girls seemed a bit enthusiastic about this contest so I picked up my popcorn bucket to look on the bottom. I was SHOCKED, to say the least, when I found a shamrock sticker on MY popcorn bucket. Two movies passes were given to us from the manager with a big smile on her face. I realize we didn't win anything enormous, but we WON!

P.S. This is my personal opinion, but I wouldn't waste money on seeing RANGO in the theater and I will not be buying or watching it again. They hired brilliant marketers for this movie.

Spring Break = Spring Cleaning?

What do you do with your "Spring Break"? Do you leave town and get break from the everyday? Spring clean your entire house? Get a jump start on yard/garden clean up? A 'Staycation' perhaps?

At my house it is going to have to be a combination year. I am grateful the kids have a full week off for their spring break. I'm ready to not live and die by the schedule of school. I know my daughter is ready for the break too. (Unfortunately we are not morning people, we try to fake it September thru May.)

Are you leaving town? If we get to take off it will only be for a couple of days to Grandma & Grandpa's in Salt Lake. I don't know about you, but we do not get enough time with extended family and we love time spent with them. (The fact that it is a cheap getaway is a bonus!)

We will be spring cleaning!!! Working and keeping on top of the house work is not a talent that I possess! Closets, cupboards, drawers, laundry room, baseboards, windows, walls . . . are you getting the picture? It is amazing how much house work can get done in the first couple of hours after I wake up compared to double the time in the afternoon. (Am I the only one like that?) Being home in the mornings is going to ROCK!
I found CLEANMAMA.BLOGSPOT.COM this week. She has a great plan to get through the spring cleaning job, step by step. I am going to get started on Week 1 now and we'll keep working on the other weeks during the break. You can follow her plan too if you like:

Weather permitting, there will be yard/garden work going on as well. I really like the My Square Foot Garden blog with all of her helpful tips. I have not a successful garden once in my life. I have plants that grow great with many others that don't even sprout. This year is going to be different! I need my garden to survive during this tough economic time. I have loved being able to go to my storage room and take bottles of yumminess and feed my family. My tomatoes did not flourish last summer, I have wonderful neighbors and friends who gave me tomatoes to bottle last fall. My hope is to have enough from my garden to be able to share this year.
I live in a blue color area. The color system lets you know when is the best time for planting each plant in your garden. Learn your color here. Read through her many postings that will guide you through your gardening.

Our 'Staycation' will consist of turning off the phone and the world, because we wouldn't be answering it if we were not home, and doing some of our favorite activities.
We love books, my daughter wants to start a book club with her friends so this will be a great week to get it started. We'll slao be enjoying some good reading time.
We love playing games, keeping track of who is winning is important, and eating our favorite treats. There will be at least one afternoon of this fun.
Baking is also something we enjoy doing together, it makes the house smell so good too.
There are so many crafting projects that have been half done or put off because of time that I'm feeling there will be some time spent crafting.
Who doesn't love simple relaxation in front of a good movie, with the popcorn and milk duds? A movie marathon in pjs is my kind of fun.

I know this is a lot to do on a 'break', but let me stress that I will not schedule it! It will happen because it is what we want to do. I will push for a lot of the spring cleaning to be done in the next week and a half before the break begins.

I was disappointed that there were no Smart Source coupons in Sundays paper, but then I found and decided to check out the Herald Journal Money Tree. On the back page of section C they offer a limited number of gift cards you can get for a discount, first come serve basis. The majority of the cards are for $25 and you pay only $17, that is a 32% discount. They did have one gift card for Anderson Seed, you pay $34 for a $50 gift card. With the spring planting around the corner I knew this would be a good one and would go quickly, but I gave it a shot.
73 min! later, of constant dialing, I heard ringing and a hello! It felt like I had just won the game!!! Of course the Anderson Seed card was the first one to go at 9am. That's okay, I got a $25 gift card for $17 that makes me happy.

The Money Tree savings is offered routinely, not sure when the next one is though, so if you call and don't get the ONE you want then there is always next time. There are a couple of rules; you can only purchase one gift card per phone call and only four gift cards per household. You pay for it over the phone and then you may pick it up on Wednesday afternoon at the Herald Journal.

These gift cards make great gifts or just a way to save on going out to eat with your friends and/or family. Make sure you have some time, but the savings is worth it. They still have more available today. If you don't receive the Sunday paper then call 752-8015 and ask what is still available.

Lime Scented Strawberry Mango Salad

Mangoes . . . yummmm! I was talking to a friend this morning who reminded me of this recipe. Along with my ADD, or a side effect of it is, I forget things easily. I went to my good friend, Google, to look up this recipe and I was pleasantly surprised that the fourth entry for this recipe was found here on my blog from last April. I am reposting the recipe because it is a great side dish or dessert.

Lime Scented Strawberry Mango Salad

3/4 Cup Sugar
2 tsp grated lime zest
1/4 Cup fresh lime juice
3 cups trimmed, sliced strawberries (about 2 lbs.)
3 cups peeled, diced mangoes (2 to 3 large mangoes)
1/3 cup water

Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmner until sugar has dissolved, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. Stir in lime zest and juice; let cool to room temperature.

Mix strawberries with mangoes in a large bowl. Add syrup and gently stir util well mixed. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes or until ready to serve.

Keeping Produce Fresh Longer

I am off to go pick up my produce basket that I ordered through Bountiful Baskets and saw this posting by Utah Deal Diva, how appropriate. I wanted to share her good information. With costs rising any helpful tips are welcomed at my house.Here is what she posted:

Being as the price of produce may drastically increase in the next week, I thought it'd be helpful to share a few tips as to how to keep produce fresh longer. By taking a couple extra steps when you bring your produce home, you can extend the life of your fresh goods by as much as a week or two! Below I've listed several common fruits and vegetables and ways to prolong their shelf life. If you have tips to share, please leave a comment and I'll add them to the list!

Apples & oranges: will stay fresh in fridge for 3-4 weeks. Don't store other produce in the same place as apples in the fridge as they give off a gas that causes other produce to ripen quickly. {Oranges don't seem to be affected, so I store them together.}

Asparagus & celery: Wash & cut off ends. Store in a container with stalks standing upright with a little water on the bottom.

Bananas: Buy small bunches in varying stages of ripeness. Break up bunches and store on the counter in a container that allows for good air circulation. I have a wrought iron basket that works really well.

Berries: Store in fridge. Berries just don't last very long, period, unless you opt to freeze them. However if you wash them, they spoil faster, so opt to wash just those that you'll eat immediately. Also be sure to pick out any moldy berries immediately as they will cause others to spoil faster.

Broccoli & cauliflower: Will stay fresh in the fridge for about 10 days. If you opt to freeze, you'll need to blanch them first which is a very easy process detailed here.

Green onions: Slice them and store them in a container with a folded up paper towel. They'll stay fresh for about 10-12 days this way.

Lettuce & spinach: Wash & dry leaves. Store leaves in a loose but closed bag or container with a folded up paper towels. The towel absorbs the moisture and leaves stay fresh longer.

Mushrooms: Store in the fridge in a paper bag. Will stay fresh for about a week this way. {Keeping them in the container you bought them in makes them slimy within 2-3 days.}

Onions: Will stay fresh in a cool, dark place for 3-4 weeks. You can also dice them and freeze them for use beyond that time frame.

Pears: Store in fridge until ready to eat. Once they're out on the counter, they'll ripen within 2-3 days.

Potatoes: Open bag they came in and store in a cool, dark, dry place. I store mine in a cupboard in my garage- they keep for 5-6 weeks!

Today I was in town and there it was . . . . the big yellow 'STORE CLOSING' sign. I went in to check it out. Most everything was 20% off, romance novels are 30% off. There was a crowd of people browsing and the check out line was long!

Here is my thought. If there is a book you have really been wanting then run in and get it for 20% off before it is gone. I am personally going to wait for the deeper discount and then go searching for a great book at a great deal. It will be like my own safari hunt, and I will enjoy whatever it is that I 'bag'!

Borders in Logan is Closing

When I heard that Borders was filing for bankruptcy I told my daughter that they would close our store and sure enough I read that very fact in the Herald Journal. They reported that clearance sales could start as early as this week. I don't have any more information than that, so if you learn anything please share with the rest of us in the comments section. I am sad, I love going into the store with friends to look at all the pretty books and picking out a new one to come home with me.

Shopko has Ever After for $3.99 this week. Using my $3 off coupon from Coupons.com and I have myself a $0.99 movie! I got mine today = two happy girls at my house!

Walmart has 27 Dresses for $5 minus my $3 off coupon and I have a $2 chick flick.

Shopko has a good selection of $3.99 movies right now. These are the prices that people fight for DVD the day after Thanksgiving. Start your Christmas shopping right now or birthday gifts for the year. Walmart and Shopko had clearance tables and racks all over their stores today.

What I Learned at My Ridley's

I ran to get a few items from the PYP list that I previously blogged about. My Ridley's did not have all of the same sale items that the Orem store had.

Items I found not on sale:
* 3pk Jolly Time popcorn
* Ivory 3pk soap
* Yoplait Greek yogurt

There could be more, but those are items I was looking for.

Item's I bought:
* Yoplait yogurt, remember the first ten are the sale price.
* Tony's version of hot pocket, these were a screaming deal at $.60 each with your .50/2 SS-2/13 coupon.
* The $5/10 deals are great, I took advantage of this deal too.

I love that Ridley's tells you your total savings broken down into categories. Your frequent shopper savings, coupon savings, and enhanced promotions savings. Enhanced savings is like the $5/10 General Mills savings.

I spent $30.12 and my total savings was $43.43. I love when I save more than I spend!

***FYI, You can pre-order 40lb of chicken for $59 to be picked up starting 3/1. This is going to be a one week sale. The chicken becomes $1.48lb.

If you have a pressure cooker you can bottle the chicken to save on freezer space. You can read a previous post about bottling chicken HERE. My girlfriend just bottled her chicken breasts whole, not cut up like I have, and it turned out great and saved time!

Last month I made freezer meals and found a fabulous teriyaki chicken recipe. I will be doubling the sauce next time and I froze a combination of veggies to pull out at the same time to heat up with my chicken. Recipe is here.

Pinching Your Pennies actually has a listing of Ridley's deals. Unfortunately, they are geared for their Orem store and they had a double coupon day. They still have, as far as I can tell, the same sale prices as my local Ridley's and coupons are listed. Just remember that they are showing the final price as if you had been able to double the value of the coupon. For instance the Yoplait yogurt is shown as $.17 each and they will actually be $.24 each. That makes the yogurt half off the regular price, when you purchase 10.

A couple of weeks ago I went through all of my DVDs to make sure that the correct movie was in the correct case. I'm sure you all of your movies are correctly put away, the little gremlin that causes DVD chaos only visits my house. Anyway, I was surprised to find Disney Reward codes still in some of my cases. I found 600 points to be added to my account!

I know that I used to print a lot of coupons, but I am not a huge fan of them anymore. I would print out many coupons that would never get used, waste of precious ink! I do print one out every now and then if it is something I need and already use regularly. I don't print to try something new. A lot of the printable coupons have already been sent to me in my Sunday coupon packs as well.

Okay, all of that said, this is a good coupon in my book. Cereal is outrageous in price these days and if you catch a sale and couple it with your coupon it becomes affordable. Besides, YUM! I love cinnamon, period. **After you print your coupon click the back button for a second one :-)

Avocado Salsa

I LOVE this salsa! My husband and I have been known to eat it for lunch, a bag of chips, a cool drink and we are happy. This would make an excellent Super Bowl treat this weekend. With the tomatoes, avocados, and chips on sale this week you may as well give it a try.

4 med/lrg avocados, diced
4-8 roma tomatoes, diced
1/2 purple onion, diced
cilantro, chop as much as you like
chopped olives
can of sweet niblet corn
2 limes
garlic powder
season salt
red pepper flakes

Mix the first six ingredients together. Green Giant makes the corn that I use, it is a small can and I believe it is white corn. I don't always use the corn though. Squeeze the lime juice into the bowl. Add the garlic powder and season salt a bit at a time, stir together, give it a taste test, continue this process until it is perfect for your happy taste buds. The pepper flakes don't always make into the salsa either, just depends on who is enjoying it.

Truly, the amounts are subject to your personal taste buds. I will say that the purple onion gives it such a great bite and flavor. I made a batch of this last weekend, when my 21 yr old saw me cutting the onion he said 'yuck', when he took his first bite he said 'yummm'. I told him it was that purple onion that was making his taste buds happy.

It is not only a great chip and dip, but it is fabulous on your tacos, burritos, sandwiches, wherever you would like it! Enjoy!

(New York Groove tune) I'm back, back in the Coupon groove!

I have been coupon shopping in the past nine months, not as much as I would have if I had been running this blog. Since my last posting my husband has experienced a second lay-off and is currently looking for work. I am a good frugal shopper, but I know I have missed out on some great deals.

I need to make some updates, give me a couple of weeks as I have many ideas I would like to put in action. My family will be my first priority and my church calling the second priority. The fact that my family is my first priority is in part what has made me realize that posting on the blog is needed to keep me on top of the deals out there.

I need to tell you that I sooooo have ADD. What that means, for me, is that I tend to give all of my attention to one project and neglect another. I will not give all of my attention to this one, but I will do my best to not neglect it either.

I love to save money and time while enjoying life. Share this site with your friends and family so we can all save together.

The Computer is Up & Running!

My computer had a driver failure and needed to go see the Doc, Geek Squad. I am now at square one because I don't have all of my bookmarks of my favorite sites to check for deals and recipes. I'm certain I can find the really good ones again. They are listed with my previous posts. My question is do I want to? I'm thinking that I will set up a spot on the right with the most relevant sites for those of us in Cache Valley for everyone to link to and look for the deals. If I found anything super great I will post them. I need to spend my time working in my yard and garden. My garden truly is where my screaming deals are coming from this summer.

I have had fun reading comments and finding the deals I have shared with everyone. I just need to put my energy in other areas of my life. So these posts will be random, after I get the site user friendly for finding your own deals online.

Shelf Reliance Party

I made it to a Shelf Reliance Party a couple of weeks ago. I was pleasantly surprised with the taste of their product. I sampled the Taco TVP, and ordered it because of it's flavor, I also sampled freeze dried pineapple, strawberries, & mango. Their taste was like eating fresh fruit. The macaroons were delicious too. I also liked that at these parties you pay less than the retail price!
You can also set up a plan to build up your food storage at your budget. It will be automatically sent to your home each month. I like that. How many of us want to increase our variety and supply of food storage but our busy lives get in the way?

Bountiful Baskets Order Day

Today at 1:00 is the time for ordering your Bountiful Baskets. I know that they will have EVOO and from what I have read from past purchasers, on Facebook, they really like it. I am unsure on the price until it is on the order form. They will have tropical granola, it is filled with coconut, dried pineapple & papaya, and macadamia nuts. Many of you know that I am a fan of reading Marcia Lynn McClure's books. This month she has 'The Highwayman of Tanglewood' for $13.95 till April 30th. If you like a masked man at night who gives great kisses then you will enjoy this book.

I just read 'Beneath the Honeysuckle Vine & The Tide of the Mermaid Tears'. I enjoyed these ones too. They are clean romance and sometimes you just need to mentally check out from life for a moment of reading and these books do just that. I haven't read her e-book 'Kiss in the Dark' yet, but I like the title.

If you haven't heard yet, Marcia will be at The Book Table on June 19th. I haven't talked to The Book Table about it yet, but I plan to this week and I'll get more details.

I think I got the last one. Sorry! I decided I should purchase a second one and when I tried it said that they were sold out, but they are scheduled for a restock. So don't give up if you still want one. I checked the price for a single visit and it is $9 for adults and $7 for kids. That is $16 for an adult and child to visit one time and I paid $20.94 with shipping for a one year membership! I did add an $11 pass for the Cache Valley Fun Park for $5.50. That is a deal.

I also found, Citydeals.com, that you can purchase certificates for dining, hotels, entertainment, & retail. Most of these certificates are for outside of our Cache Valley, but Olive garden said for all locations. These are great for a in state vacation! Check it out.

Odering Day for Bountiful Baskets

Bountiful Baskets ordering day is today at 1pm. We pick up on Saturday, April 10th. Please notice the pick up time as they change without warning. My guess is that it will remain at 8:45, like last week, but you just never know. I am crossing my fingers for a case of blackberries soon for jam.

If you are new to this site and are unsure what Bountiful Baskets is let me give you a brief run down. It is a produce co-op that enables us to get the same produce you get at your grocery store without the mark up the stores give us. Through mass buying power we get a fresh mix of fruits and vegetables to help our families eat healthy. You order on any Monday that you wish and pick up your basket on Saturday at a designated site and time. This operation does run on volunteers, to keep our costs down. You can show up an hour an ten minutes before your scheduled pick up time and help unload the truck, distribute produce in baskets, take out the boxes and garbage, you can stay through the pick up process as well. You do not need to help every Saturday, but when you can it is greatly appreciated.

Lime Scented Strawberry Mango Salad

Did you order mangoes or strawberries to go with your Bountiful Basket? If so here is a yummy salad recipe Ginger tried out last week, and loved, that you could make with some of your fruit:

Lime Scented Strawberry Mango Salad

3/4 Cup Sugar
2 tsp grated lime zest
1/4 Cup fresh lime juice
3 cups trimmed, sliced strawberries (about 2 lbs.)
3 cups peeled, diced mangoes (2 to 3 large mangoes)
1/3 cup water

Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmner until sugar has dissolved, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. Stir in lime zest and juice; let cool to room temperature.

Mix strawberries with mangoes in a large bowl. Add syrup and gently stir util well mixed. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes or until ready to serve.

Serves: 8

Make Fakin’ and Eggs this April Fool’s Day

On April Fools’ Day, trick your family with a tiny breakfast that’s really a cleverly disguised dessert: Fakin’ and Eggs from Disney Family Fun Magazine!

Ingredients
FOR THE EGGS:
· 3 tablespoons white chocolate chips
· 12 yellow M&MS

FOR THE FAKIN’:
· 1 square caramel
· 1 Tootsie Roll Midgee

Instructions
1. For the eggs: Melt the white chocolate chips according to the package directions. Transfer the melted chocolate to a ziplock bag and snip off a corner.
2. Squeeze nickel-size portions of the chocolate onto a sheet of waxed paper, then gently press a yellow M&M, letter side down, into the center of each. Let the candies cool. Makes 12 eggs.
3. For the fakin’: Remove the wrapping from a square caramel and a Tootsie Roll Midgee. Microwave the candies for 4 seconds to make them soft. Use your thumb and forefinger to slightly flatten each candy piece, then press them together.
4. Halve the candy, then stack and press the pieces into alternating layers.
5. Slice a 1/4-inch-wide piece from the stack. Pinch and stretch the piece lengthwise into a flat bacon strip, then cut it in half. Add ripples to each half by gently bending the edges. Makes 3 strips (6 pieces).

Reed's Pharmacy

Ginger received a letter from Reed's Pharmacy, located at 790 E Main St in Hyrum. They were making sure she was aware that they can match other pharmacy prices. They do have great personalized service and they deliver medications free of charge! They also have a drive-thru window for those moments in life when you just don't want to get out of your vehicle.

They offer over-the-counter medications as well. Their gift selections with candles, crafts, Willow Tree angels and LDS items are great. They also rent DVD's, make copies, provide fax services, fill helium balloons, rent carpet cleaners, and have a UPS counter to help with your shipping needs,
I personally like having the convenience of having the local businesses in our community and want to remind everyone to support your local businesses to keep them thriving.

Jenson Books

Kristine at work was telling us of a great new used book store in Logan, Jenson Books. You walk into this warehouse style store filled with books. You grab a grocery sized bag and fill it for $7, you must be able to hold the handles together is the only rules for filling your bag. You can purchase individual books for $2 per hardback and $1 for paperbacks and children's books. They put new books out daily, or at least every other day.
They are located at 1766 S. 400 W. You turn at S.E.I., directly behind pallets of Utah. You can see a map online HERE. They have a Facebook page to get updates. On their site, jensonbooksonline.com, you can type in a book to see if they currently have it. I typed in an author, Marcia Lynn McClure, they did not show her in their online inventory but I was able to let them know that I am interested in any of her books if they come across them.

I think this will be a great place to grab books for summer reading, of course along with your library books.

Rumbi Island Grill Opening in Logan

I have eaten at Rumbi Island Grill in Salt Lake a couple of times many years ago. I don't remember which salad I ordered, I do remember I really enjoyed it. Rumbi is opening in Logan on Friday, April 2nd. On Friday you can get a free rice bowl 11am - 2pm. Their grand opening is on Saturday, April 3rd. Saturday will be filed with a ribbon cutting ceremony, light the torches at dusk, live local entertainment, meet USU coaches, Coupons for future Rumbi events, free prizes, prize wheel, & live radio broadcast. They are located at 970 S. Main, next to Walmart and Old Grist Mill. The handout states that kids eat free on Mondays.

The Perfect Hard Boiled Egg

I am home today and while watching Good Things Utah I saw a segment on how to get the perfect hard boiled egg. I'm sure many of us are going to be boiling eggs this week for Easter so I wanted to pass along what I learned today. Cook with Tom is the site with all of the ins and outs of the perfect hard boiled egg. Read his posting and enjoy your eggs.

They also have a recipe for Sampan's Sweet and Sour Sauce. I love a good sweet & sour sauce and I have ruined meals before with a bad sweet & sour sauce. This one is a signature sauce at Sampan's, which I have never tried, so I am going to be using it this week.

Peanut Butter Playdough

I love peanut butter. Therefore, I love peanut butter playdough. It is an activity and a treat all in one. It is loved by the young and the not so young. If you are in need of an activity/treat try this recipe if you do not already have it:

Peanut Butter Playdough

1/3 c. honey
1/2c. peanut butter
1/2c. powdered milk

Mix well & have fun!

I also love that these are all items I like to have in my food storage. My heart goes out to you if you are allergic to peanut butter and I think you might need your head checked by a professional if you just don't like it! I am married to one who needs a professional check up.

Did you use your kale from last weeks basket? Click HERE for nutrition info on this super food. The only recipe I have ever used kale in is Zuppa Toscana Soup. There are many recipes for this soup online. HERE is the one I used. I don't use sausage and bacon bits, I use Farmland brand pork & bacon flavored sausage and my family enjoys it. My eight year-old wasn't too sure of the purple leaves in her soup. Seriously, the kale took on the flavors of the soup. It was delicious. I hope you enjoy.
